Our 2025 Annual Impact Report is here!

We are excited to share a brief summary of last year’s developments and achievements.

2025 was another year of learning, collaborating, and growth. Although the year brought many new challenges, GLOS continued to do what we do best: adapt – while keeping our eyes on the mission. As GLOS CEO Jennifer Boehme noted in her report-opening letter,

“Our mission remains simple: provide real-time information that keeps people safe and protects freshwater resources for future generations.”

And thus, as every year, we focused on sustaining and improving our infrastructure and resources for the Great Lakes stakeholder. In 2025, that took the form of ‘community-targeted’ observing deployments, ‘new and enhanced’ Seagull features, and increased partner engagement and regional user outreach.

In 2025, we also began the celebration of 20 Years of GLOS with recognition of- and insights from- some of the influential figures throughout GLOS’ history. We will continue to celebrate GLOS’ 20 years and feature stories and interviews of others throughout 2026.

We would like to thank our many partners, the platform managers, the data providers, and the researchers, that help make the observing system possible. We would also like to thank our donors and users that support this work. And thanks to the staff and board for another year of hard work and resilience.

Lookout 2026 – we have big plans for you!
