We have been working on a new project.

In place of the Seagull Users Livestream, the new Seagull Media project “What it Takes to Understand the Great Lakes” will feature a collection of recorded interviews, in-person discussions, and location exploration. The interview videos will be posted along the way, and will feature different industry experts, community scientists, and/or topic-relevant researchers under three different themes this year:

Observing Technology: the hardware and instrumentation

Data at Work (and Play): inside providers’ and users’ use cases

Future Focus: the coming features and datastreams

We will combine information from our interviews with industry insights, taking you behind the scenes to see the work that is being done to bring you Seagull-featured data. All of this will culminate in three subsequent videos in line with each of this year’s themes.

We want to hear from you about what you think we should ask our guests or discuss for each of these primary topics. Send requests to info@glos.org to help us cover all the topics you want to hear about.

We just released our first interview video, featuring Hayden Henderson and Chris Pinnow of Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center.

Keep a lookout for more to come!

In the meantime, check out our past Seagull Livestream interviews.
